Blue light emitting materials based on asymmetric anthracene compounds were synthesized via Suzuki coupling reaction and purified by re-crystallization and sublimation. Structures of the target compounds are characterized by IR. NMR. Results of TG and DSC analysis show the compounds have good thermal stability. The PL spectra of the materials in solution were found to exhibit excellent blue emission with the peak maxima at 424 nm and 428 nm respectively. The materials have excellent light emitting performance and could be used as materials for organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs).
