 This project focuses on the key difficulty for the high-hardness fracturing waste fluid produced in some areas of oil and gas fields in China to meet the discharge standards, aiming at solving the environmental problems caused by oil and gas field exploitation. Through the detection of multiple batches of high-hardness fracturing waste fluid, the water quality characteristics are comprehensively analyzed, the treatment process is formulated according to the water quality characteristics, and the integrated treatment equipment is developed. The field application test in the oil field proves that the treatment equipment can selectively remove the high hardness of the fracturing waste liquid without destroying the effective treatment component (guar gum) in the fracturing waste water, and the treated waste water can meet oil field reinjection standard.  The development and application of this integrated equipment greatly improves its competitiveness in the oilfield service industry, and solves the environmental problems and economic pressures caused by oil (gas) field exploitation. Yanchang Oil Field is taken as an example. This company’s service block produces about 2.7 million tons of fracturing waste fluid each year. The current cost of this type of wastewater treatment and oilfield water is about 90 yuan/ton, and the cost will be saved to 40 yuan/ton with the integrated equipment used for treatment while meeting the reinjection standard, saving 50 yuan per ton, generating economic benefits of about 135 million yuan/year. With the improvement and optimization of this process, it will be more widely used in the oil field, and greater economic benefits will be produced.
